A few days after bringing baby Teddy home, I woke up in the morning to find Susan and Teddy missing.
My mother, who had come from Greece to help with the new baby said that Susan had taken Teddy out for a walk.
Shortly afterwards, there was a knock on the door and I was served with divorce papers. I had the shock of my life.
The divorce petition, contained Susan's signature under the caption "I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California that the foregoing and the attached information forms are true and correct", and false statements, such as that she had been a resident of Ventura County for at least three months and that we had been separated.
Susan had in effect absconded with our baby with no indication as to where she was. I guessed that she had gone to her brother's house nearby and when I arrived there I could hear Teddy's screams from across the street. It was the beginning of a long saga of Teddy being taken from me and tortured.
